Following the dictum of 'sa vidhaya vimuktye' and 'Utthisht Jagrat prapy Varannibodhati'
Gindo Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya is the only old mahavidyalaya
of the city of Budaun. The college was founded in 1982 with the immemorable assistance
of Late. Smt. Gindo Devi ji who dedicated her life for the cause of women's education.
The college being situated in the heart of the city is feasible to all the girls
of rural and urban area of Budaun. From March 1984, 29 rooms were constructed here
and then in 1995-96, the corridor was constructed with the MP fund of the then MP
of Swami Chinmayanand. In the year 2001-2002, one room was made with the MP fund
of Sri Prem Swaroop Pathak ji and in the year 2003-2004, Sri. Vimal Krishan Agarwal
(MP) assisted financially in the construction of one room and then in the year 2005-2006,Sri
Banvari Singh Yadav, the State Minister of UP Government made the same financial
assistance for the college in the construction of one more room.
In the same year, three more rooms were constructed for the sake of women hostel.
Gindo Devi got permanent affiliation in 1987. The students of the college are continuously
winning new laurels in the fields of study, cultural programs and in sports. In
the year 2001- 2002, PG classes in Hindi and Samskrit were sanctioned under the
self finance scheme and in the year 2002-2004, UG classes in Home Science and Drawing
were sanctioned under the same scheme and the college is again attempting to bring
back Home Science and Drawing in the college.
In the year 2012, the college created the history by becoming the first college
of the city to be accredited by NAAC and getting 'B' grade.
The college is in fact determined to the cause of all round develop of the students.
The college is also following the motto of 'Equal Opportunity' in its best possible
way.
